It's almost that time.
Archery sign ups are now closed.
We need Rangemasters and Youth Volunteers to staff the OCBSA South Day Camp Archery Range.
Requirements (training and such) are listed below.
This is a great opportunity to give back and help out the younger scouts while earning service hours.
This is the training/requirements information:
Youth and Adult Range staff
- Adult Rangemasters
To serve as an Adult Rangemaster range you must:
- Fill out an
Adult Volunteer Staff registration form online
and turn in the hard copy of the
medical form
including a copy of both sides of your insurance card before May 22, 2023.
Be sure select the Staff option and to write in the notes area that you will be a range master.
Check in with the
Rangemasters
before signing up for the magic charactor combination.
And complete the online sign up - This is now closed.
- When you register online pay $20 to cover the cost of the meals for staff at camp.
- Be certified as a BSA Rangemaster or as an NAA Level 1 or above coach.
For those who need to take or renew their BSA Rangemaster card, there will be a training oppertunity on May 21st 9:00 am - 2:00 pm at
Oso Lake

If you have a valid BSA Rangemaster or NAA Level 1 or above certification,
you do not need to attend an archery specific training session although refresher courses never hurt.
- In addition to the archery specific training, you will be required to attend one of the Staff Training sessions.
on either May 31 or June 3.
(Check the Day Camp web site for dates, times, and locations).
- Youth Volunteers
To serve as a Youth Volunteer on the archery range you must:

and turn in the hard copy of the
medical form
including a copy of both sides of your insurance card before May 22, 2023.
As part of registration you will pay $20 to cover the cost of meals at camp.
Be sure to write in the notes area that you want to work on the archery range.
You must attend one of the mandatory general youth training sessions either on either May 31 or June 3.

You also need to sign up online as well - This is now closed.
- Work all 5 days.
- You MUST attend an archery specific training session even if you attended one last year.
The Youth and adult Archery Rangemaster Volunteer Training will be on May 21st - 9:00 am - 2:00 pm at
Oso Lake
- In addition to the archery specific training, you will be required to attend
1 of the mandatory Youth Training sessions.
on either May 31 or June 3.

- Also, all forms must be filled out by the youth who are volunteering (parents, you know what this means).
We look forward each year to watching our young men and women mature through
their experiences so let them take the responsibility and grow from it.
As for those on the BSA Merit Badge track -
all communications from parents will be automatically routed to my trash bin.
- All Volunteers
- Go online and
fill out the registration form.
- Submit the
medical form

Roundtable).
- For adults and youth payment for meals ($20 for the week) is part of the online registaration process.
- On or after April 1st, come back to the web site and fill out the
online form - This is now closed.
- Attend an archery specific training session on May 21st - 9:00 am - 2:00 pm at
Oso Lake

- Youth must attend one of the general training sessions
- Adults must attend the staff training session after the adult volunteer orientation
- Help with setup on June 10 & 11.
- Attend range staff orientation on June 11.
- Help with take down on June 17.
We need you to notify the rangemaster (@ our main e-mail)
of any changes to your availability or further questions.
A final requirement for all volunteers - be ready to have some FUN!!!
